Ofev Information
Ofev (Nintedanib Esylate) is used to treat diseases that cause scar tissue formation (fibrosis) deep within the lungs. In these conditions, the scar tissue thickens and becomes stiff with time, making it difficult for you to breathe. You may develop other medical problems if your brain, heart, and other organs do not receive enough oxygen. Ofev is used to treat lung diseases like idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and chronic interstitial lung disease (ILD). The drug is also used to slow lung function decline in people with systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease (SSc ILD). It is important to note that Ofev does not cure IPF or ILD, but it can slow the effects of these diseases on your lungs. Tyrosine kinase inhibitors like Nintedanib Esylate work by blocking the effects of some substances that cause scarring of the lungs.
