Viibryd Information
Viibryd (Vilazodone) is a medication used to treat major depressive disorder. Viibryd is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that works by stopping serotonin from being released, and instead keep it in the brain for longer. This increases levels of serotonin in the brain, which can lead to a decrease in symptoms caused by depression. To make sure Viibryd is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, a bleeding or blood clotting disorder, narrow-angle glaucoma, seizures or epilepsy, bipolar disorder, a history of drug abuse or suicidal thoughts, if you drink alcohol, or if you have low sodium levels in your blood. Talk to your doctor about any other medications you are currently taking in order to reduce the risk of interactions. Take this medication as directed. Do not stop it suddenly without your doctor’s advice. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or become pregnant, as this medication can cause complications with the baby.
