Nexlizet Information

Nexlizet (Bempedoic acid - Ezetimibe) is a combination medication used along with a proper diet and other medications to help lower bad cholesterol (such as Low-density Lipoprotein) in the blood in conditions like heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH). It is also used in people with known heart disease who need additional lowering of bad cholesterol levels. Bempedoic acid belongs to adenosine triphosphate-citrate lyase inhibitors. It works by reducing the amount of cholesterol made by the liver through inhibition of cholesterol synthesis in the liver and absorption in the intestine. Ezetimibe is a cholesterol absorption inhibitor that works by reducing the amount of cholesterol the body absorbs from the diet.
