Onsior Information

Onsior (robenacoxib) is a medication administered by licensed veterinarians to cats and dogs. Onsior belongs to the class of medication called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Onsior tablets are used for the control of postoperative pain and inflammation associated with orthopedic surgery, ovariohysterectomy and castration, in cats and dogs, 5.5 lbs or (2.5 kg) and 4 months of age; for up to a maximum of 3 days. This medication is used before and after surgical procedures as robenacoxib targets inflamed tissues.

Onsior Side Effects

Common Side effects of Onsior include:
• Anemia;
• Behavioral changes;
• Dark stools;
• Diarrhea;
• Increased urination;
• Increased water consumption;
• Incoordination;
• Seizure;
• Yellowing of gums, skin or whites of the eye (jaundice)

Stop using Onsior and contact your doctor immediately if these adverse effects occur:
• Lethargy;
• Lack of appetite;
• Vomiting

Onsior Precautions

Onsior should not be used in cats or dogs who are allergic to it. Both animals should undergo a thorough history and physical examination before the initiation of NSAID therapy. Appropriate laboratory tests should be conducted to establish hematological and serum biochemical baseline data prior to administration of Onsior. The use of this medication should not exceed that of 3 days post-surgical operations.
