Tricor (Fenofibrate) is a medication used to improve the lipid profile in the blood. It's important to note that while fenofibrate is effective in regulating these lipid levels, it hasn't been conclusively shown in all trials to reduce the risk of heart attacks or strokes in every patient population, especially when compared to statins, which are another common type of cholesterol medication. However, it appears to be a crucial treatment option for those with very high triglycerides or specific patterns of dyslipidemia.
