Dostinex Information:

Dostinex (Generic name: Cabergoline) is a prescription medication used to treat certain hormones problems (hyperprolactinemia) that causes unusual breast milk production. Cabergoline belongs to a class of drugs known as dopamine receptor agonists. It works by stimulating a part of the brain that can decrease the production of the hormone that causes milk production (prolactin). Decreasing high prolactin levels can improve the unusual breast milk production. Dostinex may also be used to treat Parkinson’s disease, prolactin-producing tumors and to adjust various hormone levels in certain disease (ovarian disease). Take Dostinex exactly as it was prescribed.

Dostinex Side Effects:

The most common Dostinex side effects are constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, nausea, sleepiness, tiredness, vomiting, and etc. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as breast pain, chest pain, fainting, hallucinations, menstrual cramps, mental/mood changes, vision changes, and symptoms of an allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; hives; itching; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.

Dostinex Precautions:

Do NOT take Dostinex oral if you are allergic to Cabergoline or to any of the ingredients in Dostinex medication. Before taking Dostinex, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions, including: allergies, high blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, psychiatric illness, and etc. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Dostinex drug, especially of: anti-anxiety, antidepressants, antihistamines, antipsychotics, anti-seizure drugs, blood pressure drugs, muscle relaxants, narcotic pain relievers, sedatives, sleeping pills, and etc.
