Bosulif (Bosutinib Monohydrate) is used to treat the chronic phase of Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) in newly diagnosed individuals. It is also used in previously treated adults to treat chronic, accelerated, or blast phase who are resistant or intolerant to prior therapies like imatinib or dasatinib. It is also used in children aged 1 year and older with chronic phase Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia, either newly diagnosed or previously treated. Chronic myeloid leukemia is a type of cancer that originates in the bone marrow, where a genetic translocation creates the abnormal BCR-ABL gene, leading to the overproduction of dysfunctional white blood cells that eventually crowd out healthy blood components.
